I am a firm believer in supporting local quilt shops (LQS) whenever possible. You may find better pricing online, but you won’t have the same level of customer service and quilting support. Local quilt shops help keep money within your community and those local quilt shops give so much back in the way of charitable service.
My Local Shops. Here are the local must-see shops in the Pittsburgh area (in no particular order!):
- Piecing It Together
- Quilters Corner
- Quilting Needle
- Creative Stitches Cafe
- Amy Baughman Sewing & Quilting Center
- The Quilt Company
- Quilters Depot
- Loom
Fabric Manufacturers. To keep tabs on what’s coming out in the world of quilt fabric, I like to check out these blogs & sites from the top fabric manufacturers (then I make a list and head to my LQS). Many fabric manufacturers also offer free patterns on their websites, so check ’em out:
- Moda
- Moda Bake Shop (Patterns)
- Kona Bay Fabrics
- Kaffe Fassett
- Jinny Beyer
- Westminister Fabrics
- Blank Textiles
- Northcott
- RJR Fabrics
- Hoffman Fabrics
- Andover Fabrics
- Timeless Treasures
